Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bid manager to join our international team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical engineering with projects in Solar, High Voltage Substations and preferable also BESS. You have the responsibility to manage the entire incoming bid process, creating proposals, from the initial opportunity assessment to the final submission of the bid related to BESS activities.
This role could also involves after sales the execution stage leading the detail design, securing suppliers and subcontractors and ensuring that the bid meets technical specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire bidding process for the organization, from initial bid review to contract negotiation and closing the deal.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as business development, finance, legal, and project management teams, to ensure bids are complete, accurate, and meet the client's needs.
- Capable to challenge input from internal stakeholders to optimize the customer solution.
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals to prospective clients, ensuring they meet client specifications and requirements.
- Identify potential suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services required for projects, like aux transformers, cables, civil works, low voltage switchboards, etc.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor proposals and negotiate contracts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to determine project needs and ensure alignment of procurement strategies with project goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of all bids submitted, including wins, losses, and reasons for each outcome. With the objective to continuous improve the outcome.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) as a Bid manager with a track record of winning bids, procurement activities and negotiating contracts in relevant sectors like Solar, Substations and BESS is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate contracts with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Knowledge of relevant software applications such as Microsoft Office, Autocad, Salesforce.
